New Interactive Touchscreen Unveiled at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha

While the NCAA® Men’s College World Series action inside TD Ameritrade Park Omaha was put on hold this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, off-field efforts to improve the fan experience have continued. Today – a day that might have seen the crowning of a new NCAA baseball champion – CWS of Omaha, Inc. unveiled a new interactive touchscreen outside the stadium that will operate 365 days a year.

Fans and visitors alike can access the weather-protected 65” touchscreen, which is located at the northwest corner of the stadium near the Gate #1 stairway wall. The innovative project was made possible through a $37,000 grant from the Douglas County Visitor Improvement Fund.

In a partnership with Lincoln-based computer software and development company SectorNow, the touchscreen offers a variety of interactive features, including CWS history and fun facts, ticket information, game and weather updates; visuals from inside the stadium; a wayfinding map depicting North Downtown and nearby neighborhoods; and much more.

“Whether fans are attending the College World Series, Creighton baseball games, the Big 10 Tournament or just want to see the stadium throughout the year, they will be able to see drone footage of the inside and outside of TD Ameritrade Park Omaha,” said Kathryn Morrissey, Executive Director at CWS of Omaha, Inc. “When the information is available, we will post details such as schedules, ticket on-sale dates and prices, along with other features that will help enhance the fan experience.”

“For CWS fans in particular, there will be a lot of information about our history – including Rosenblatt Stadium – as well as winning teams, statistics, photos and more.”

The touchscreen’s features will continue to evolve as users begin to interact with it.

“That’s one of the best things about this technology,” Morrissey said. “We can update information easily and we can see what topics are of most interest to users and enhance those areas as fans and visitors to Omaha begin to experience it.”

Additional touchscreen features include:

• Views of inside TD Ameritrade Park Omaha
• Ticket information for the CWS
• Official CWS event map
• Information about the Road to Omaha sculpture
• Stadium map and policies (clear bag, prohibited items, etc.)
• Weather information related to CWS
• Historical information about the CWS, including past champions, Most Outstanding Players, etc.
• Wayfinding map depicting North Downtown and nearby neighborhoods
• Creighton University Baseball and Big Ten Baseball Tournament schedules
• Upcoming events at the stadium
