CWS of Omaha, Inc., Internships

We provide annual internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates that offer those selected the opportunity to help gain experience in event management on a national level. The 2020 NCAA® Men’s College World Series® will be June 13-23/24, with the Opening Celebration Day being held on Friday, June 12.

CWS, Inc., the local organizing committee of the College World Series, is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1967. The mission of its all-volunteer Board of Directors is to enlist community support for the College World Series from business, government, civic organizations and individuals.

Event Internship (6 positions)

June 8 – June 23/24
Application Period: CLOSED (Applications Under Review)

These selected applicants are specifically hired to assist just prior to and during the College World Series. Event interns assist with pre-event assembly, as well as day-to-day event responsibilities on-site at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha. The dates for this internship begin on Monday, June 8 and run through the CWS, ending on either Tuesday, June 23 or Wednesday, June 24.

These are non-paid volunteer positions.

Opening Celebration Day Internship (3 positions)

June 12 ONLY

Application Period: CLOSED (Applications under review)

These selected applicants are specifically hired to assist during the Opening Celebration Day on June 12th ONLY. Interns will assist with all activities that range from autograph sessions, team practices, team dinner and activities as well as parade and concert.

These are non-paid volunteer positions.

Spring Internship (1 position)

January through July

College World Series of Omaha, Inc., offers one paid spring event management internship for the NCAA Men’s College World Series. This internship provides the opportunity to work behind the scenes at one of the NCAA’s largest championships. Assignments may include, but are not limited to, coordination of specific events and volunteers, general office duties, assisting with ticket and parking matters, creation and dissemination of materials and manuals. This position assists the CWS, Inc., staff both in the office and on-site during the event. This position also oversees those selected for the additional internships, assigning hours and daily responsibilities.

Other on-site assignments include working with the NCAA staff, as needed, before and during the event, assisting with the Fan Fest, Opening Ceremonies and Autograph Session. CWS, Inc., also hosts VIP Hospitality during the event.

The selected applicant will be paid based on hours worked, as commensurate with Nebraska minimum wage.
